NEW MALTBY SYKES FILM TO PREMIERE IN 2012
Presented by the Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art at Auburn University, the film "Maltby Sykes: Gentleman Modernist," is set to premiere in January 2012. The documentary, by filmmaker Dale Schierholt, follows Sykes' life as a working artist and renowned teacher, as well as beloved friend. From young artist at war, to innovative printmaker, to beloved professor, Maltby Sykes has touched the lives of generations of artists and art lovers.
